An Tearman, the place of sanctuary, consists of a comfortable country house set in 5 acres of gardens. We are situated on the Isle of Bute, which offers many opportunities for enjoying our natural heritage, and can be reached from Glasgow in just 1½ hours.

We offer a peaceful home from home where visitors can relax and take some time out from their usual routine, to enjoy the Isle’s delights and perhaps to gain some perspective on life’s challenges. Our aim is to offer a flexible service that is comfortable, nurturing and affordable and particularly welcome individuals and projects that focus on raising awareness and working creatively towards a holistic way of life.

Although the vision is yet in its early stages, we aspire to a lifestyle that is as sustainable as possible. This presents some challenges when dealing with an old property and offers of help are most welcome. There will be a working weekend each month, which could be an opportunity to sample what we have to offer.
